Our usual venue is the West Surrey Golf Club which is located at Enton Green, Station Lane, Godalming, Surrey GU8 5AF. There are meetings on most Mondays, Bank Holidays excepted. When there is a fifth Monday in the month, the Club usually organises a special event to which partners are invited. Click on Club Diary for more information.
We meet for a drink and a chat from 7:30pm onwards. Dinner is served at 8pm so that the meeting can start by 9pm to finish around 10pm.
We congregate in the bar which is to the right of the entrance. Beyond the bar there is a comfortable lounge and the spacious dining room easily accommodates members and guests. If the front door is locked, press the intercom button to gain access.
Dress code is smart casual and Golf Club members must wear jackets and ties in the dining room, although this requirement can be waived for visitors.
The excellent meal is available at a reasonable price. We usually order a single course followed by coffee, but two courses or more are served for special occasions.
Speakers are invited on several evenings during the course of a year to supplement the regular cycle of Committee and Business meetings. Topics have ranged from the reform of the House of Lords to the Global Challenge Round the World Yacht Race.
We welcome speakers who want to share an interest, publicise a charity or who are seeking donations for a worthwhile cause.
Take exit from A3 onto A283 (signposted Milford, Petworth). At traffic signals turn left onto A3100 Portsmouth Road (signposted Godalming). At the roundabout, turn right onto Church Road A286 (signposted Midhurst) then immediately turn left onto Station Lane (signposted Milford Station).
At Milford Station, go over the crossing and carry on for about 800 yards. The entrance to the Club is up the drive on the right immediately after Water Lane.
