Car Parking for the Thai Festival at Secrett’s

Would you be daunted  by the challenge of directing the parking of some 10,000 vehicles during an August Bank Holiday weekend? Woolsack Rotary Club has often organised the car parking at charity events.

Woolsack’s involvement with parking began in 1993 when the Queen Elizabeth II Foundation  asked us to help at their annual vintage car rally at Losely Park. After the main fundraising event moved to Leatherhead, we assisted QE II there for two more years before handing over to the local Rotary Club.

We then began parking for the Amazing Thai Festival  in Milford. During the festival visitors can enjoy varied Thai cuisine, buy Thai crafts, watch Thai dance or enjoy a relaxing foot massage.

The Festival is staged at Secretts over the August Bank Holiday in alternate ‘odd’ years. A smaller event “Live Thailand” is being held on 24 and 25 August 2008 from 12 noon until 6pm at Aylings Garden Centre, Trotton.

The festivals are organised by the Mudita Trust which promotes the education of underprivileged girls in Thailand, thereby rescuing them from drifting into a life of prostitution. In just a few years, the Festival has grown rapidly in popularity, so much so that the roads at Milford would be in chaos without efficient stewards to direct parking. Please be patient if you are delayed by the sheer volume of traffic going to the festival.

Next Amazing Thai Festival

The next Amazing Thai Festival will be over the August Bank Holiday in 2009 (29, 30 and 31 August).

The cars begin to arrive

and there can be no argument.............
