Inner Wheel of Godalming Woolsack
In July, the Inner Wheel Club of Godalming Woolsack welcomed their new President, Clare Sandy, seen below after accepting the ribbon from outgoing President Patience Smith.
Inner Wheel was originally an organisation for wives and widows of Rotarians, but has now expanded membership to other women. Active membership may also be taken up by individuals in any of the categories listed on the right.
Inner Wheel promotes friendship and personal service at local, national and international level. Inner Wheel welcomes visitors and guests who have an interest in the Club.
The Inner Wheel Club of Godalming Woolsack meets on the third Tuesday of each month, usually in a member’s home but occasionally elsewhere (please phone for details). Time 7.15pm for 7.30pm. Activities include speaker meetings, outings, fund raising events and informal gatherings.
For several years the club’s main fundraising event has been a bridge lunch, held at Shackleford Barn and this year the event was considered the best yet with 80 people enjoying good bridge and excellent weather for the lunch - photos below. A number of Rotarians assisted the club to raise £1265 for the benefit of “First Responders” and the purchase of a new defibrillator. These people save many lives each year and the IW members are pleased to be able to support them.
